Mechanicsburg Fire & EMS Explorer Program helps young men and woman who is interested in the Fire and Medical Service get a better understanding about the service. It is a program that is open to all men and woman who are between the ages 14-18 years of age. This post is ran through The Boy Scouts of America. This program will help youths who is interested in the career field, see if they really want to begin a career in this field. The Mechanicsburg Explorers has 10 current members, and is always accepting more members. This program has a Committee Board, that is made up of Adult Members of the department. This program also has a Explorer Chief, and a Explorer Capt. which is voted upon every year by the youths of the program. The Explorers participate in department and Explorer Training, community events, fundraisers, and attend the Ohio Youth Fire and EMS Training Academy at Hocking College.
